FIXO Internet eXchange Oslo operates two route servers.
The point of the route servers is to ease the management of peering agreements on FIXO. With the route servers it is possible to do bi-lateral peering without configuring independent sessions with all other peers, rather our members can peer with the route server and it will export all other peers, and you can even control the policy on how routes are transmitted with a simple community filter.
The following communities are accepted
- 61300:61300 Announce to all peers of route server
- 61300:64496 Announce ONLY to 64496
- 0:64496 Do NOT announce to 64496
- 0:0 Do not announce to any peers
The route servers operate an AS-FIXO as-set in RIPE, and do strict IRR filtering.
Example configurationExample configuration for Cisco IOS
Big thank you to LONAP, and also Lee at Routed.org for help with the setup!
